Website and Cookie Policy

In order to improve the quality of our website and services, this website uses cookies.

A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. To find more information about cookies, manage or delete the cookies on your devices, please visit: www.allaboutcookies.org

Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

Under the EU e-privacy Directive 2009 which amended the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 we can store cookies on your computer if they are essential to the operation of this site but for all other “non-essential” cookies we need your permission to do so.

We use two types of cookies on our website, namely;

1. Session Cookies – We use “session cookies” on this website which are necessary for its functionality. They store an abstract unique ID for each session and remain in the cookie file in your browser during the session but are erased when you close your browser.

2. Google Analytics – Like many other sites we use a popular programme called Google Analytics which is a web analysis service. It provides us with anonymous information about how visitors use our site, including the number of visitors to the website and the length of time they have spent on the website. It does not provide us with the personal identification of each individual user.  Google’s privacy policy is available at:  https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Users have the opportunity to set their computers to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. The last of these, of course, means that certain personalised services cannot then be provided to that user.

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites, including this one.
