Particular highlights include:

  • Representing a wife where the total assets exceeded £105 million, the extent to which a large proportion of these assets were non-matrimonial was a significant issue. The parties were able to reach an agreement without the need for court proceedings to be issued;
  • Representing a mother in highly contested, long running children proceedings in the High Court. The mother had been subject to onerous undertakings for a number of years and by the conclusion of the proceedings, these were all discharged enabling her and the children to lead a less restricted life.
  • Representing a wife following the breakdown of both parties second marriage where the assets exceeded £10m and involved various complexities such as overseas properties, trusts, pensions and land that was in the process of being developed and therefore held significant hope value. There were significant arguments about non-matrimonial property. The case settled on the morning of trial with the wife receiving a generous needs-based settlement.
  • Representing an ex-husband in a variation of maintenance dispute some 10 years after the original proceedings commenced, helping the parties to reach a clean break and bring an end to long running and stressful litigation;
  • Representing a husband with an annual income of £500,000 gross and assisting with settlement negotiations shortly before a final hearing. The parties’ eventual agreement was a substantial move away from the wife’s open position with respect to maintenance, in both quantum and term.
