Kate joined Edwards Family law as an Associate Solicitor in September 2022. Kate trained at an internationally renowned full-service firm, before qualifying as a Private Client lawyer in 2018, advising families and family offices on trusts, estate planning and UK tax.
From 2020 Kate started taking on Family law cases and moved to a Tier 1 boutique Family practice in London. She gained experience in dealing with high-profile and exceptionally high value cases, with associated confidentiality or reporting issues, and often dealing with novel matters of law. With both a Family Law and Private Client law background, Kate’s specialism was in advising trustees and beneficiaries alike on the treatment of trusts in divorce.

Isobel studied law at Exeter and completed her training contract at a leading City law firm where she gained a wide range of experience in all areas of family law, as well as civil litigation and conveyancing.
Isobel qualified in August 2019 and has continued to develop her practice with a particular focus on high net worth financial matters, often with an international element. This includes dealing with matters involving complex trust and corporate structures, based both domestically and overseas, and issues of company valuation.
One particular case saw Isobel assist in a highly complex ultra high net worth divorce case involving multiple jurisdictions including India, France the UAE and a number of other offshore jurisdictions.
The case addressed complex financial remedy issues which can be faced by high net worth individuals on the breakdown of a marriage including;
Issues related to the assessment of value, origin and ownership of assets including those within complex company and trust structures;
issues regarding evidence and disclosure; and,
minority discounts in respect of company shareholdings all had to be considered.
This case also dealt with novel issues of law such as the interface between family law and the broader civil law, and variation due to the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the value of assets.
Isobel also has experience in matters involving nuptial agreements, including drafting pre and post nuptial agreements as well as where nuptial agreements are being challenged.

Representing a wife where the total assets exceeded £105 million, the extent to which a large proportion of these assets were non-matrimonial was a significant issue. The parties were able to reach an agreement without the need for court proceedings to be issued;
Representing a wife where the husband’s income was in excess of £1 million net per annum and there were significant allegations of non-disclosure against him. The parties reached an agreement and the wife secured a substantial capital and maintenance award;
Representing the paying party in a variation of maintenance dispute some 10 years after the original proceedings commenced, helping the parties to reach a clean break and bring an end to long running and stressful litigation; and
Representing a husband with an annual income of £500,000 gross and assisting with settlement negotiations shortly before a final hearing. The parties’ eventual agreement was a substantial move away from the wife’s open position with respect to maintenance, in both quantum and term.

Chloë joined Edwards Family Law as an Associate Solicitor in 2022.
Chloë studied Psychology at Newcastle University, followed by her subsequent legal training at the University of Law. She undertook the BPTC at Nottingham Law School and was awarded the Lord Diplock Scholarship from Middle Temple for her talent as a legal advocate, leading her to practise as a solicitor-advocate (with higher rights of audience). Chloë has worked exclusively in family law since 2014 and trained at a leading City law firm, qualifying in 2017.
Chloë’s legal practice encompasses all aspects of financial remedy, Schedule 1, private children and prenuptial and post nuptial agreements. Chloë specialises in Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders (REMO) cases having worked on cases involving New York, Australia and New Zealand jurisdictions; notably providing expert evidence to the New Zealand court in a long running Welsh/New Zealand dispute which changed the outcome of the case.

Sarah joined Edwards Family Law in July 2023 as a Senior Associate.
Sarah advises clients on all aspects of family law, with a particular focus on resolving complex financial issues for high-net-worth individuals. Many of her cases involve trusts, corporate structures and jurisdiction issues. In addition, Sarah regularly advises upon the negotiation and enforcement of post and pre-nuptial agreements.

Representing the wife within High Court proceedings, with interests spanning five jurisdictions and total wealth of c£230m+, generated during the marriage through full and equal contributions by both parties. Successfully defending the husband’s arguments with regards to post-separation accrual and special contribution and securing the wife an award of c45% of the marital pot.
Successfully defending a variation claim brought by an ex-spouse in respect of spousal and child maintenance following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representing the wife in Part III proceedings following a divorce in Russia. The case, which included the instruction of four Queens Counsel, was heard before Mrs Justice Roberts in the High Court over a 21 day two-stage hearing, and culminated in the Wife being awarded an additional lump sum of £1.148m, together with additional provision for the children. The matter was subsequently brought before the Court of Appeal.
Representing the husband following a 12-year marriage with 3 young children, where the parties’ assets of c£17m+ were, in the main, generated during the marriage. Following successful negotiations outside of court, the husband was able to retain an 100% interest in his businesses and pre-marital properties, together with a clean break as to capital and income.
